Widget is a dynamic company that succeeds by seizing opportunities.

In 1987 our founder, technology journalist Mark Needham, spotted a gap in the market, starting Widget Software Ltd to specialise in reselling Psion handheld computers. We grew steadily until Psion withdrew from the consumer market in 2002.

With the advent of satellite navigation, the company – renamed Widget UK Ltd in 2000 – became TomTom’s first UK distributor. We have grown apace since then and in the past two years we’ve added a range of other innovations like Flip pocket camcorders, 3M pocket projectors, Be-book e-readers and Pogo Plug cloud computing products to our exciting portfolio.

We’ve also won a raft of awards, which mark our phenomenal growth: turnover has increased more than six-fold in the past five years.

Such rapid growth is the result of concentrated effort. We have chosen a tightly focused range of products that we distribute to leading high street and online retailers and resellers including Amazon, Argos, Comet, Ideal Shopping Direct, John Lewis, Maplin, Play.com, QVC and many more.

We are distinctive because we are proactive, seeking out imaginative new products and emerging technology trends. But we never forget that we are a service company.

We aim to build lasting relationships with our vendor partners and with key retail customers. We strive to deliver much more than excellent logistics, using our extensive channel knowledge to help manufacturers develop effective launch, marketing and merchandising strategies to maximise return on investment throughout the supply chain.
